In a world where Google and AI decide who gets seen, I’m sharing The MCS Agency's roadmap to building authority that shows up everywhere it matters. Here's how you can join the journey.

CLARA MATONHODZE

When I started The MCS Agency, our mission was simple – help nonprofits and small businesses tell their stories powerfully and purposefully. What’s changed is how those stories get found.

We’re no longer just competing on websites or social media feeds. We’re competing inside AI-generated answers. Whether it’s Google’s AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Bing Copilot, today’s search is a conversation. And the only brands that show up are the ones that are trusted, cited, and structured for AI.

That’s why I’m inviting you behind the scenes of our new Authority Roadmap – a six-month plan we’re launching to help The MCS Agency (and hopefully your organization too) become a name that shows up where decisions are made.

Why You Can’t Fake EEAT

Google’s search guidelines and the AI models that feed off the web don’t reward fluff. They reward EEAT: Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trust. I have previoslu discussed it here

So if your brand (or personal brand) isn’t publishing, being quoted, or showing up with structured, trustworthy content… you’re invisible to the systems your audience now uses to make decisions.

That might sound intimidating. But here’s the good news: small teams and mission-driven brands can win this game; especially when we lead with credibility, consistency, and real stories.

The MCS Agency Roadmap: Our First 8 Weeks

We’re focusing on four pillars to build authority that resonates with both humans and machines:

1. Audit Everything

We started by Googling ourselves, asking ChatGPT who we are, and running searches in Perplexity. If you’ve never done that for your brand, do it today. It’s revealing.

2. Build the Infrastructure

We’re adding structured data (schema), writing clear author bios, and refreshing every page of our website to signal trust.

3. Publish with Purpose

We’re rolling out blog posts like:
“How Small Brands Can Rank in Generative Search”
“What EEAT Means for Mission-Driven Marketers”

We’re also sharing client case studies and launching short-form videos and podcast clips because AI pays attention to original content, especially when it’s cited elsewhere.

4. Ask to Be Cited

We’re pitching guest articles, submitting to nonprofit directories, and appearing on podcasts not just for the visibility, but for the links and mentions that AI models use as proof points.

What I’ve Learned So Far

  •  – You have to write like a human, for both humans and machines.
  •  – Case studies matter. They are the single most underutilized trust-building asset.
  •  – You don’t need to be everywhere. You need to be in the right places.
  •  – AI respects structure. Schema, bios, and backlinks are power plays.

Join the Journey

I’m doing this openly because I know a lot of us are navigating this shift in real time. If you’re a small agency owner, a nonprofit communicator, or just someone trying to make your work visible in an AI world, you’re not alone.

Over the next few months, I’ll be:

 – Sharing our progress in real-time on LinkedIn
 – Publishing our audit templates and checklists
 – Featuring case studies of small brands getting big wins in generative search
